Girls on the Run International (GOTRI) is the parent organization of more than 200 Girls on the Run councils across the United States and Canada. GOTRI establishes, trains and supports a network of community-level councils with local volunteers. The volunteers serve as role models to the girls through coaching the 10-week, 20 lesson curricula. The curriculum is delivered in these areas through after-school programs, recreation centers and other non-profit settings. My time as Program Director for Girls on the Run Central NJ has already deepened my understanding of what it truly means to be a #helpfuladult.

Mission: We inspire girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running.

Vision: We envision a world where every girl knows and activates her limitless potential and is free to boldly pursue her dreams.

The program focuses on professional development for individuals who are interested in the business side of sports by offering career advice, resume and interview guidance, and opportunities to network directly with industry professionals. Selected participants attend live sessions led by front-office staff, where they gain insight into areas like marketing, data analytics, corporate partnerships, ticket sales, and fan engagement.

The 2024 National Communication Association (NCA) 110th Annual Convention theme, “Communication for Greater Regard,” focuses on cultivating care, empathy, and value in scholarly, pedagogical, and professional interactions. It promotes ethical, engaged communication to address social issues, improve community relations, and foster inclusion.
